Story Behind Our Brand:
Our Name: Tashi’s
Tashi’s is a name that holds deep meaning for both my husband and me. It is a blend of our names—Tarik and Shivani—and has been close to my heart for many years. When our daughter was born, I had hoped to name her Tashi, but due to Indian traditions and astrological beliefs, her name needed to begin with the letter “E,” and she became Eva. While the name wasn’t used then, it never left my heart.
After three wonderful years of running our salon, the decision to rename it felt natural. Tashi’s represents the equal partnership my husband and I share in building a warm, welcoming space for our team and the incredible clients who continue to support us.

My journey into hair and beauty began at a young age, watching my mother run her salon in India. Seeing how she enhanced women’s beauty and confidence left a lasting impression on me and sparked my dream of owning a salon one day.
Although I pursued and earned an engineering degree, my passion for hair and makeup never faded. I chose to follow my heart, and Tashi’s is the result of that journey. Our logo is dedicated to my mother, who inspired my love for this industry, and to my husband, whose unwavering support has been my strength throughout. Their influence has shaped who I am today, and I am endlessly grateful.

Shivani Sehgal
Owner / Hair Stylist / Colorist / Makeup Artist
With over 20 years of experience in the hair styling and makeup industry, my passion for beauty began at a young age after watching my mother transform and inspire women through hair and makeup. That early influence sparked a lifelong love for the art of beauty.
Although I hold a degree in Electronics Engineering, I chose to follow my true passion. I completed my hair diploma at the Canadian Hair and Aesthetics Academy and have continued my education with advanced certifications from top industry professionals and celebrity makeup artists, including Georgy Kot, Mario Dedivanovic, Tamanna Roashan, and Sabrina Wassel.
I specialize in bridal hair styling and makeup artistry, hair coloring, and customized looks for all occasions. I am also a certified hair extension specialist with GBB Hair and Bellami Hair, creating seamless, natural transformations.
I proudly lead a team of six talented stylists and aestheticians, all dedicated to providing an exceptional client experience. I’m deeply grateful to our loyal clients who continue to inspire us to grow, evolve, and stay current with ever-changing beauty trends.

Hi, I’m Cindy! With 24 years of experience as a professional hairstylist, I’m truly passionate about bringing my clients’ hair visions to life. After graduating from Marvel Beauty School in Kitchener, I began my career at Jody’s Flair for Hair, where I built a strong foundation and deep love for the craft. For the past 8 years, I’ve been proud to call Tashi’s Studio my home, continuing to grow and perfect my skills.
My favorite part of the job is working with color, using a variety of techniques to create customized, dimensional looks that suit each client’s lifestyle and personality. I’m committed to ongoing education and regularly attend classes to stay current with the latest trends, techniques, and innovations in the industry. Most of all, I love connecting with both new and returning clients and creating a welcoming, enjoyable experience every time they sit in my chair.

Hi, I’m Ann Marie! I’m a hairstylist with over 30 years of experience and a lifelong passion for creating beautiful hair through customized cuts and vibrant, lived-in color. I truly love what I do, and I believe the best results come from combining skill, creativity, and a great client experience.
I’m known for being fun, energetic, and always sharing a few giggles with my clients while they’re in my chair. Making people feel comfortable, confident, and happy is just as important to me as delivering amazing hair. I’m deeply passionate about my craft and continue to stay inspired by new trends, techniques, and the joy that comes from helping each client look and feel their best.
INDYAH SELVATRANAM

Hi! I’m Indyah! I’ve been passionate about hair since 2019, when I began my co-op placement in high school at Level Salon. That experience is where my love for hairstyling truly grew, along with my passion for making clients feel confident and beautiful.
In 2020, I attended Marca College in Brampton, where I further developed my technical foundation. After graduating, I worked at L’Oréal Salon in Aurora for approximately three years, where I refined my skills in coloring, cutting, and styling while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
I take great pride in my work and always strive to deliver the best possible results while creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every client. Continuing education is very important to me, and I regularly take courses to enhance my skills, stay current with trends, and bring fresh techniques to the salon. My goal is for every client to leave my chair feeling confident, happy, and well taken care of.

Hi, I’m Roop! I’ve been a professional hairstylist and makeup artist for over 10 years, with a true passion for enhancing natural beauty and creating personalized looks for every client. I love building genuine connections with the people who sit in my chair and making sure they feel comfortable, confident, and happy throughout their experience.
Whether it’s a fresh haircut, a bold color, soft glam makeup, or a special event look, I truly enjoy the transformation process and the joy it brings to my clients. I’m always looking to upgrade my skills by learning new techniques, trends, and products, as I believe the beauty industry is constantly evolving. My goal is to provide high-quality, thoughtful service while helping each client leave feeling like the best version of themselves.
